The Alexa Rose Foundation is a relatively new organization – only four years old. Developing a meaningful online presence has been one of our priorities, and I am pleased to share our new website with you! Not only did we want a professional, aesthetically compelling site that was user friendly, we wanted it to be a place we could actively further our mission to further the creative work of individual artists through grants and fellowships, strengthening the cultural environment of the Boise Valley and benefiting the community at large.

Our first goal is to encourage artists to continue to advance creatively. We invest in the skills artists need to do challenging creative work through a competitive grant process. Our new streamlined online application will make it easier for grant applicants and judges to access and manage required information. Interested applicants can attend one of several workshops we are conducting throughout the valley in January to help artists navigate the new application process.

Our second goal is to provide resources artists need to develop as professionals in a local, regional and national context. In addition to funding, we know that artists need opportunities to promote themselves and provide exposure to their work. Our new website will provide a page for Artist Profiles. Every artist who receives an Alexa Rose Foundation Grant will have their own profile on the website with images, narrative and links to their own websites and social media. In addition, every artist will be able to upload events and announcements to our Events Calendar. The Foundation will market these Artist Profiles and the Events Calendar as a central location for engagement with the greater community.

In order to impact the cultural environment of the community and increase awareness about the importance of creative practice we will periodically be posting about cultural philanthropy, the value of a thriving creative class, etc. We welcome any feedback about other opportunities to improve our site!
