Stephanie Kathryn Bacon grew up in NYC and earned a BA with Special Honors at the University of Chicago. After a few years of free-range travel, and professional work as a Graphic Designer, she earned her MFA in Fine Arts at Brooklyn College. In 1996 Stephanie accepted a faculty position at Boise State University, where as Professor of Graphic Design she has been able to pursue a wide range of interests in fine art and design, writing and research, and curatorial projects. Stephanie’s work has been seen in more than 75 exhibitions, including solo exhibitions at Portland Art Institute, Missoula Art Museum, and Northwest Nazarene University; and is represented in 24 public and private collections, including Boise City Visual Chronicle. Her projects have included the Visual Culture Caucus; Idaho Center for the Book, which she directs; Boise State’s Arts and Humanities Institute, which she co-directed; and its Gallery program in Boise State’s Yanke Center.
