Medieval jongleurs wove story and song into the fabric of feasting, and I strive to recreate that synergy. As a storyteller, musician, writer, and scholar, I explore the wonder of adventure tales long ignored.

The magic in these stories comes from the people themselves, and it never works until they themselves are empowered. Silence struggles to voice his identity; Princess Josian joyously rescues the man she loves. Medieval splendor and high ideals inspire books and movies today, but we have left behind some of the richest wisdom, the most fascinating tales.

A vision of story in community is much needed in our culture. I look to medieval feast entertainment as a way to strengthen community, to mediate the gap between the past and the present, so that we do not leave behind the whimsical humor, the complex symbols, and the fresh perspectives of an earlier era.
