Jared Andreas was born on March 1, 1988 in Hemet, California. In his second year at Boise State University his heritage and status as an enrolled member of a federally recognized tribe began to influence his work. Identity, Representation and Constructed Reality are themes often found in his paintings that act within narratives to confront generalized and stereotyped caricatures of Native Americans. In early 2017 he won the Dean’s Award, the top prize at the 2017 Student Juried Exhibition at Boise State. Ten months later, three of his paintings were published in Issue #132 of the highly prestigious periodical “New American Paintings”. Jared is on track to graduate from Boise State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in the spring of 2018.
