A newcomer to Boise, Janet Lo, is extremely grateful to be a recipient of an Alexa Rose Foundation Grant. For over 30 years, she has been a professional actor in Theatre, Film, TV & Radio. She has worked internationally, portraying roles across Canada as well as appearing in Los Angeles, Boise and China.
Last fall, she brought her production of Madam Mao, the critically acclaimed play that she created, for a successful run at Boise Contemporary Theater.
Stage highlights include M. Butterfly, Tout Comme Elle, Hana’s Suitcase, Pu-Erh, Red Snow and a season at the Shaw Festival. Her producing credits include Powder Blue Chevy by Raymond Dang, in which she acted, and the Canadian Premiere of A Language of Their Own by Chay Yew, which she also directed. She was the 2013/14 Artist in Residence for fu-GEN Asian Canadian Theatre Company. Janet is part of the acting ensemble of Second Jen, which received an Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television Nomination for 2019 Best Comedy Series.
