Erin Cunningham lives and works in Boise. She has a BFA and an MFA in Visual Art from Boise State University, and currently works there as an adjunct professor. She doesn’t have much time out of the classroom or the studio but steals moments to dote on her tyrannical dachshund Tito. She has worked predominantly in paint for the past few years, making works that explore the creation and revision of memories. She is preparing to create new works in the near future reflecting on the body, illness and regeneration; works that respond to her own experiences undergoing a stem cell transplant in 2015. The work will explore her physical and genetic transformation, as well as her observations and experiences during the lengthy process of diagnosis, treatment, isolation and recovery.
