Cody Gittings is a filmmaker and freelance director, cinematographer, and editor, born and raised in rural Nevada and currently living in the increasingly unaffordable North End of beautiful Boise, Idaho. His first short film, Smoke, was adapted from an award-winning collection of short stories by renowned local author Alan Heathcock, and premiered at the 2015 Sun Valley Film Festival. Cody has collaborated on both narrative film and commercial projects with such local organizations as Treefort Music Fest, Boise Contemporary Theater, and Blue Cross of Idaho. He has received grants from the Boise Department of Arts & History, Idaho Commission on the Arts, and the (now defunct) Idaho Film Office. In 2019, Cody has vowed to remove himself from all social media platforms, pursue his newfound love of carpentry, and continue making art with his friends here in Idaho and beyond.
