A descendant of immigrants from the Catalan-speaking island of Menorca, I translate contemporary Spanish literature written in Catalan, including poetry, fiction, and literary nonfiction. I also teach creative writing and translation at Boise State University and in the Boise community. I’ve published one translated collection of poetry (El salobre/Salt by Ponç Pons) and another one is forthcoming (Haikús de camioner/Truck Driver Haikus by Dolors Miquel). I’ve also published translations of poems by Ramon Llull, Ponç Pons, Maria-Merce Marçal in journals including Exchanges: A Journal of Literary Translation, Hayden’s Ferry Review, Inventory: The Princeton Journal of Translation, The Winter Anthology, Lyrikline, Eleven Eleven, and the Notre Dame Review. Other projects in progress are the collections Missa Pagesa/Peasant Mass by Dolors Miquel, Bruixa de dol/Witch in Mourning by Maria-Mercè Marçal, and a collection of 20th century poetry by five Catalan women.
