The Alexa Rose Foundation is proud to announce its 2019 class of grant recipients. The Foundation received over 300 applications from across the Treasure Valley. 74 individuals were selected through a comprehensive peer-review panel of fellow artists, educators and creative professionals in the community.

Our grantees represent a wide cross-section of artistic disciplines and experience levels. Alexa Rose strives to support makers of all backgrounds reach their fullest artistic potential, and in doing so, enrich the cultural communities of Ada and Canyon County.

  • Savannah Culp: Materials and marketing for the production of 22 one-of-a-kind handbags
  • Dawn Douthit: Travel to attend a Baroque violin intensive in Montreal, Canada
  • Caroline Earley: Artist residency at C.R.E.T.A. association in Rome, Italy
  • Marianna J. Edwards: Travel and hotel expenses to visit the Museo Textil de Oaxaca to photograph and study the patterns of traditional Mexican garments
  • Sid Enck: Equipment to complete pottery studio
  • Francis Fox: Attendance at a stone carving residency in Italy
  • John Francis: Purchase of a new DSLR camera for higher-quality images
  • Teal Gardner: Rent for studio space to prepare for an upcoming exhibition of clay and sketch work
  • Cody Gittings: Purchase of a 4K Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera
  • Sergio Gonzalez: Production of cross-cultural film in Boise and Puebla Mexico
